Tea Focus - Tranquil Tuesdays

Top Teas For Good

The art and tradition of tea cultivation traces back thousands of years in Chinese history, making it easy to see why tea is so precious and personal in this country. To the uninitiated, however, it can be a mysterious culture, and that’s where Tranquil Tuesdays aims to help. A multi-pronged social enterprise with the goal of making what they call ‘living tea culture’ accessible through the sourcing of premium tea, the sale of local artisans’ handmade accessories, and a behind-the-scenes involvement with a women’s empowerment movement, Tranquil Tuesdays provides an all-around feel-good factor, in addition to some of the subtlest sips in the capital.

Teas are personally sourced by founder Charlene Wang from small family farms across the rural countryside, and each adheres to their strict ‘unscented, unblended, and single-origin’ code, resulting in pure taste profiles that boast the distinctive terroir of each region (vintage Pu’er from Yunnan, Tieguanyin from Fujian, Keemun from Anhui) and which vary naturally from harvest to harvest. In the way of tea ware, the collection is handcrafted in the Chinese porcelain capital of Jingdezhen, and features stunning Celadon and kiln-fired Crystalline Glaze tea sets just perfect for gifting. For special requests, you can go bespoke and create personalised tea tins filled with the leaves of your choice – and if you’re not sure which to choose, tastings can be arranged by appointment only. Do good, drink tea!
