NOBU Sushi Making

The news that world-acclaimed sushi chef Nobu Matsuhisa would be coming to the buzzy Beijing locale of his popular NOBU fine diner (famed for its black cod saikyo yaki and currently found in 25 cities across 5 continents, 4 of which are Michelin-starred) to prepare special dishes and sign cookbooks was already enough to have sushi enthusiasts chomping at the chopstick, but when it was announced that he would also be teaching a one-day-only masterclass revealing the tricks of his ultra-delicious trade, what ensued was nothing short of a foodie frenzy.

In town and available for in-house meets from the 14th to 16th of March, Matsuhisa-san will hold his one-off lesson on the last day of his visit, beginning with a light breakfast followed by a NOBU kitchen tour. Matsuhisa will then perform a sushi-making demonstration, imparting both his wisdom and precise techniques to lucky fans who can then sample his handmade creations, receive personal guidance when crafting their own, and indulge in a delicious post-class bento box. Last but not least, students will receive an apron and sushi kit designed by the chef himself upon completing the class. An exclusive opportunity to wow at your next dinner party? Book well ahead and don’t forget to bring your notebook!

From Ming to bling in 60 seconds, Beijing’s meteoric rise to world-shattering super-city is as unrelenting as it’s astonishing. Steeped in history and mystique, from its fast disappearing hutongs to its staggering new skyscrapers, the capital of China is without doubt one of the most exciting places to be on the planet.
