Chef Daniel Urdaneta and Alex Molina seem to be on a riotous roll following the recent revamp of Modo Urban Deli
and the resounding success of sister restaurant Mosto, as the pair now vye for the hearts of the younger crowd with a new casual concept. Set on the ground floor of happening Nali Patio (also home to Spanish sizzler Migas
with floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive concrete walls and a warm wooden finish, all-day diner MOKA Bros is a much-needed Sanlitun shopping flop-spot for powering up the laptop and luxuriating in a long coffee.
The focus here is on wholesome, yet gourmet takes on savory classics like crêpes (think thick fluffy buckwheat pancakes stuffed with moist chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce, caramelised onions, crunchy broccoli, and lashings of melted cheese), waffles, sandwiches and indulgent but light bites, like their salmon and eggs benedict wrap with avocado and spinach. Or for the fiercer post-retail appetite, they offer hot and heavy Power Bowls featuring a rice or noodle base, with chicken or steak and a choice of eight fresh vege components. And like any solid caff, their drinks list is standout, including fruity smoothies, aromatic brews from Teapigs, and an enviable array of imported specialty coffees. Wake up and smell the MOKA!
