Tick Tock
IWC Schaffhausen Flagship Boutique
IWC Schaffhausen’s first and only Beijing flagship (and only the third worldwide) has set up shop in the capital’s Parkview Green Mall. Playing strongly to China’s near obsession with Swiss-made watches, the impressive bi-level, 300 sq m space is a careful study in innovative opulence, with an interior every bit as luxurious as the IWC products themselves.
The boutique’s glass cube-like façade is a sophisticated nod to the brand’s commitment to technology and modernity, while the interior of rich dark woods and clean lines provides a sleek, masculine backdrop to the label’s six design families (Portuguese, Da Vinci, Portafino, Aquatimer, Ingenieur and Pilot’s) and the exclusive IWC Collection timepieces and accessories. In a world first, the Parkview flagship also boasts a room dedicated solely to one of IWC’s most iconic designs – astronomic timekeeper Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia – and housing a special edition tribute model, complete with a celestial chart casing revealing the Forbidden City’s horizon. With high-profile celebrity fans including actress Tang Wei, Olympic gold medalist Chen Yibing and artist Wang Luyan on hand to celebrate the recent boutique opening, Beijing’s horology-loving connoisseurs won't be far behind. Tick tock, goes the clock!
