Why Did The Shopper Crossover The Road?
Beijing residents and regulars will undoubtedly be familiar with high-end furniture retailer Crossover, whose slick, contemporary, loftily-priced homeware selection spanning myriad sought-after brands and goods including Cassina lounges, Metalarte lighting and Fritz Hansen sculptural pieces has been beautifying local abodes for years already. What they might not know though, is Crossover’s Sanlitun branch just got a brand new adjoining neighbour, an aptly stylish, fabulously fitted-out, cocktail bar offshoot named Crossover Club, and it’s quickly becoming the mid-shop and pre-prandial pitstop of choice for Nali Patio shoppers and diners.
What it lacks in size, CC makes up for in style, with a warmly ambient interior of worn chocolate-leather couches, deer-antler chandeliers, pressed-gold bar, and Union Jack and Anglo-accents, thanks largely to a number of pieces by Brit designer Timothy Oulton. Much like the decor, the cocktail list offers a well-curated selection of uber-now flavours, like the Vanilla Old Fashion garnished with a whole vanilla pod in the glass, and the summery, lime and mint-packed Queen’s Park Swizzle. There’s even an in-house humidor tempting cigar-lovers with a wide range of imported stogies. Post-tipple, either slip next door for some delightfully tiddly home redecorating, or head upstairs for chic bites at Mosto
