Chinese Wedding

6 - 12 months before the wedding
  • Select a wedding date 
  • Decide on the banquet style, venue and time; make reservations for The Peninsula venue or a private room in the hotel's restaurants 
  • Take wedding photos
4 - 5 months before the wedding
  • Draft invitation list along with the couple’s parents, and select invitation card
  • Shop for wedding gown

2 - 3 months before the wedding
  • Book photographer for the wedding day 
  • Decide on wedding menu 
  • Decide on make-up artist and hair stylist for the wedding day 
  • Prepare formal gifts for the bride’s family 
  • Couples to register in the Marriage Registration office
1 month before the wedding
  • Prepare final list of guests 
  • Plan seating arrangements for the wedding day 
  • Send out wedding invitations 
  • Final fitting for wedding gown
2 weeks before the wedding
  • Menu tasting, and confirmation of banquet menu

1 week before the wedding
  • Check the wedding ceremony procedures and all associated elements 
  • Perform “combing the bride’s hair” ceremony
1 day before the wedding
  • Prepare red packets for guests
