With its urban-chic plate glass windows, balcony and elevated views of bustling Sukhumvit, you could be forgiven for thinking Shuffle was just another here today, gone tomorrow glitzy diner.
But first impressions belie ex-Burger Factory chef Krisda Chintakananda’s avowed mission to bring together ‘rustic cuisine’ and great craft beer, if the relaxed and buoyant crowds are anything to go by. Smart moves abound, from the simple, industrialiste interior and the generous portion size, to the fresh seasonality with regular new recipes (hence the moniker Shuffle), and limited menu (there are only two dessert choices) that helps to make ordering a cinch and keeps the service swift and with a smile.
Chintakananda’s justly famed One Great Burger (bacon and roast garlic aioli, mmm) and BBQ ribs are front and centre joined by an array of entrees and mains from grilled river prawns with toasted almonds, a range of crispy stuffed quesadillas, and prosciutto and peach salad, to grilled lamb with turmeric rice and a melting honey-smoked pork chop.
The signature house curly fries provide a deeply satisfying crunch and the perfect partner to the range of oh-so-now craft ales like Rogue Hazelnut Brown and Anderson Valley Boont Amber. Good beer, good meat, good grief, let’s eat!
