Dine, Dance, Relax
Bangkok certainly has no shortage of fusion restaurants, buzzing nightclubs, art galleries and sultry shisha lounges, but until now it had yet to see all of those combined into one svelte multi-storey and multi-function space. Recently debuted in the so-hip district of Sukhumvit Soi 49, Grease brings four vibrantly themed floors for an all-in-one night out, from dining to dancing to late-night rooftop lounging.
Begin your night at the stylish first-floor restaurant and wine bar (dubbed ‘Amy Winehouse’), bedecked in bright geometric décor and featuring a fusion menu of Mediterranean and Thai dishes like Tom Yum Kung spaghetti with prawns and the spicy namesake sauce. Post-prandial, second floor nightclub ‘LSD’ (Light and Sound Demolition) awaits, with DJs spinning electro, funk and hip hop beats from one of Bangkok’s best sound systems.
But if clubbing isn’t your scene, ‘Case 49’ on the third floor is a bar-cum-art gallery and welcome refuge, where leather sofas are the perfect perch for perusing the local artists’ work adorning the walls, as well as cocktails like the house signature ‘Gold Member’ with JW Gold Reserve, absinthe, peach schnapps and ginger ale. To go even lower key, ascend to rooftop shisha bar and lounge ‘Eywa’, a laidback alfresco oasis dotted with beanbags and cushions. Grease is the word!
