Eat Drink Love Bistro
Nevermind its rather frou-frou name, whose inspiration we can assume was drawn from a certain book-turned-blockbuster movie – Eat Drink Love bistro is one of Bangkok’s chicest new restaurants, with the focus aimed squarely on both the “eats” and the “drinks”.
Tucked inside a serviced apartment complex near Paradise Park, Eat Drink Love is a bright and airy affair, with marble-topped tables and tufted black leather chairs, warm wood flooring and industrial hanging lights, plus a spacious outdoor verandah overlooking a fountain, perfect for casual alfresco dining in these blessedly cooler months.
The menu reads mostly European, with both Italian and French influences clear in dishes like baked camembert wild mushroom ficasse and black squid ink risotto, not to mention the peppercorn crusted ribeye with provencal potato bake and fresh snapper meuniere in beurre blanc.
But amid the Med French delicacies, there are some traditional Thai flavours to be found – comfort-classic tom yum goong is on hand for those who prefer their soup spicy-sour, and Sai Aua (traditional northern pork sausage with Thai herbs) is a homey alternative to the maple syrup-glazed pork ribs. To drink, Eat Drink Love boasts a selection of TWG teas, as well as more than 300 wines sourced from Italy and France. Frou it may be, but this is one fab flop spot!
