Night Life

The comprehensive guide to finding and choosing the trendiest clubs and venue to visit.
  • Bed Supper Club
Global nomads and road warriors will recognise this concept from visits to a similarly named club in Amsterdam, but the one in Bangkok is so much better. ‘Bed’, as it’s popularly known, is a club, an upscale restaurant, an art gallery and a stage, all in one space. A white pod interior offers drinks and food service, and the lighting is a soft neon blue, whilst the whole setting is very ‘Clockwork Orange’, as if it had been re-imagined by Eero Saarinen. The drinks are well made and the food surprisingly good. This is the place to check out if you have only one night free.

  • Brown Sugar
Brown Sugar is the best jazz bar in Bangkok and is the only place that authentically recreates the New York or Chicago old jazz club atmosphere. The Brown Sugar Band who have been playing for years, warm up the evening with instrumental tunes, before vocalists take turns on stage and croon the songs of Louis Armstrong, Josephine Baker, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles.

  • Indigo
Indigo is a cosy retreat behind the heartland of Silom, tucked away at the end of a small lane in Soi Convent. There is a very laid back bar area, a good place to have a beer and unwind after a busy day before indulging yourself in the first class cuisine on offer. There are a handful of tables outside and perhaps a dozen inside, all quaintly lit and decorated. The menu has a good board selection and for an appetiser the Rock Lobster Mousse is heavenly and rapidly becoming a house favourite.
